LJMU Young Enterprise Volunteer of the Year 2008 |
|
Julia Emelogu has won the Liverpool John Moore's (LJMU) Volunteer of the Year 2008 Award, at a ceremony at the 3345 Parr St Studios earlier tonight.
The award was awarded in recognition of Julia's voluntary work with LJMU Engineering students and Young Enterprise.
Julia became a volunteer with LJMU and Young Enterprise 2 years ago, to mentor Engineering students in their 2 semester enterprise module of their degree courses.
She has worked with students which were at odds with each other and refoccussed them to create an outstanding marketing presentation, that wowed their pier group and lecturers.
Julia says "I was not expecting to be nominated for this award, let alone win it. Although this is a great surprise for me, it was really nice to be recognised for the contribution I make to these organisations.
I am passionate about enterprise, and the opportunities it has provided me, and as such I would like to use my knowledge, skills and experience to help others to better understand how business works and the freedom and control it can give."
