Mobile Apps Competition |
|
Sefton Eneterprise Business Partnership (SEBP), is holding the final of the Mobile Apps Competition on the 10th Feb 2011, at Aintree Racecourse.
The competition is in collaboration with SEBP and Chess Telecommunications, and came about following one of SEBP IT Diploma Tasters, when Julia Emelogu was talking to a student who told her about the problems of making money from creating an mobile application.
2 months later at the RAW 2010 networking event Julia bumped into David Pollock, Chief Executive of Chess Telecommunications and fellow volunteer for the Prince's Trust, and discussed this issue.
Both David and Julia are very passionate about enterprise and providing real opportunities for the youth of today.
From this the idea of a Mobile Apps Competition for the school children of the borough Sefton was born.
12 months on, and a lot of hard work later we have whittled down enteries from over 28 schools to 10 finalists.
Julia will be compering the event said, "I am really excited to see what innovative and creative ideas the school children have come up with. This is a great opportunity for them to come up with a viable idea, and as well as the great prizes on offer, they get the chance to make some real money both for themselves and their school.
Congratulations to all the finalists!!!"
