How Do I Remove the Extra Pages in SQL Reporting Services 2008?

I have had a number of clients of the past few months all asking the same question, "How Do I Remove the Extra Pages in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008?"

This is an issue with all versions of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and is due to the ability to put any report item in any position on the canvas.

Solution

When designing reports within any version of SSRS, on must take two things into consideration:
  1. The size of the page set for the report
  2. The margins of the page
When a report is designed SSRS will allow any oject pllaced outside of the page and margin parameters, by compliing the report with extra pages, to stop this simply place the items within the confines of the page setup.

SSRS automatically takes the margins into consideration in the Design view, so place the items a 0.cm position on the canvas.
