An issue with Exporting Crosstab to Excel from Crystal Reports

The issue:

The client had created a conditionally formatted cross-tab, that changed the background colours of the cells, depending on certain criteria in Crystal Reports.

When this report was exported to Microsoft Excel, some of the conditionally formatted cells was displayed with a black background.

The solution:

When the report was created in Crystal Reports, some of the conditional formatting colours used was customised, which when exported to Excel, the application could not understand, and hence recreate the same colours within the program.

To resolve this issue the conditonal colours was changed to more standard Microsoft Excel colours.
