How Do I Add jpg Graphics from an Access database in Crystal Reports 2008?

A client recently asked me how do I add the *.jpg graphics that have been stored in an Microsoft Accces 2003 database location field, to my report?

Solution:

The only way to get Crystal Reports to display the data is to use the Graphic Location feature.

To add a grpahic file from an Microsoft Access database location field, in Crystal Reports:

  1. From the Insert menu select the Picture option

  2. Select an image file

  3. Click on the report canvas to position the graphic

  4. Right click on the graphic

  5. Select Format Graphic

  6. In the Format Editor dialog box, click on the Picture tab

  7. Press the Conditional Formatting button [X + 2] for the Graphic Location

  8. In the Formula Workshop, select the field that holds the graphics location

  9. Press the Save and Close button

  10. Refresh the report
