How Do I Format the Y-axis on a Percentage Stacked Chart in SQL Reporting Services 2008?

A number of clients have recently asked me "How Do I Format the Y-axis on a Percentage Stacked Chart  in SQL Reporting Services 2008?" To show the correct percentage scale.

When the Numerical Format Percentage is applied to the Y - axis, it displays the scale as:

0%, 1000%, 2000%, 4000% etc,

instead of :

0%, 10%, 20%, 40% etc

Solution:

The only way to get SQL Reporting Services 2008 to display the correct scale is to create a custom numerical format.

  1. Right click on the Y-axis of the chart

  2. Select the Vertical Axis Properties menu option

  3. In the Vertical Axis Properties dialog box, select the Number option

  4. Click on the Custom option

  5. Enter the following syntax in the Custom Format text box:

    #0.##\%

  6. Press the OK button

This is great. I've been working on this for a couple of hours, I thought it will work by tweaking the SP, but your custom code is the answer. Thanks for sharing this!
