When Data Analysis Goes Wrong

With lockdown still in place in the UK, and the ever moving changing rules coming from the British government, I have found that I have more time on my hands.

So just a quick glance through the Daily Mail online newspaper, this little chart caught my eye:

UK Covid cases 13th September 2020, used as decision to bring in 10pm curfew

This chart is based on 729 outbreaks in the week to September the 13th, by Public Health England.

This was the chart that was used by the British government to justify its decision to impose a 10pm curfew on all Bars and Restaurants in England.

Which seems a bit of a strange decision or conclusion to make, when that section of this pie chart is the smallest.

However that was not the thing that caught my eye, can you work out what is really wrong with this chart?
